Areas of Practice

Disability Insurance Benefits

“Title II”

We represent disabled claimants who are seeking Disability Insurance Benefits because they are no longer able to work. These claimants are suffering from physical and/or mental impairments that stop them from working in both their past work and in any other full-time work available in the economy.

Supplemental Security Income

“SSI”

“Title XVI”

We represent disabled claimants seeking Supplemental Security Income help. This benefit, also administered by the Social Security Administration, requires the same level of disability as Disability Insurance Benefits. However, instead of a work history and “insured status,” SSI benefits require poverty in terms of both income and assets. Many of our SSI claimants are homeless, and we routinely reach out to homeless shelters to maintain contact.

Litigation in federal court

Unlike many other firms, we also help claimants appeal their claim denials beyond the Social Security administrative process. After denials at the initial, reconsideration, ALJ hearing, and Appeals Council stages, a lawsuit in federal court is possible. At this stage, the representation is very different. Our specialized attorneys have experience in hundreds of lawsuits against Social Security in federal courts.
